Who should take this course?

The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

What does this course teach?

  • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
  • The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
  • Important early use of an AED
  • Effective ventilations using a barrier device
  • Importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR
  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

 

An AHA BLS instructor skills evaluation assesses the candidate's ability to effectively teach and evaluate others in BLS skills, including high-quality CPR, AED use, and choking relief. The evaluation ensures instructors can accurately assess student performance and provide constructive feedback, as well as manage the course effectively. It also evaluates their knowledge of BLS protocols and their ability to maintain professionalism and integrity.

Students selecting this class must complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Online course available at BLS Essentials Online Session prior to registration

 

 

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is geared towards anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.

 

Students selecting this class must complete the Heartsaver® CPR AED Blended Learning Bundle prior to registration

 

The Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED Digital Bundle is a convenient, cost-savings student bundle that includes the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED eBook and eCard. Training Center Security ID required for purchase.

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED provides students the highest quality training in the lifesaving skills of first aid, CPR, and use of an AED. This course empowers students to act with confidence in the event of an emergency at work, home, or in the community.

Class Length - 4 Hours

 

The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
